See the Dracan 42 alongside for the first time and you won't think of a catamaran. The lines are flat and stretched — more gran turismo than cruising yacht, and that is exactly the point. The Polish yard's design team borrowed from automotive and aviation design and shaped a 42-footer that organises around 80 square metres of usable space on two hulls. For comparison: hardly any monohull under 60 feet offers that.

The yard calls the concept a “social yacht”: a bow lounge with sundeck forward, two large sunbeds aft — beneath which the two Mercury V10 outboards work almost invisibly and, above all, inaudibly. In between: drink bar, galley and either an open (Full Hard Top) or fully enclosed saloon (Touring).

In the hulls you live at hotel level: two, three or four cabins, always two bathrooms, optionally with wardrobe room and rain shower. Built using infusion and injection technology at Model Art — the yard that has produced for Scandinavian brands such as Windy and Nimbus for almost three decades.

And performance? Up to 30 knots top speed, a relaxed 8 to 10 knots cruise with a range of up to 387 nautical miles — and thanks to trimmed-up outboards a draft of just 60 centimetres. The bays of the Adriatic begin where others have to drop anchor.
